If Donald Cerrone and Jorge Masvidal have anything to say about it, the two men will be clashing in Denver on January 28th. Cerrone made it clear after his win over Matt Brown at UFC 206 that he’d like to compete on the UFC on Fox card in his hometown, and he took to Twitter again today to ask for an opponent.
Enter Masvidal:
Any and All 170 lb ers Please don’t respond to this just call @danawhite or joe Silva and say ” I will fight Cowboy January 28 in Denver “

Masvidal (31-11, 8-4 UFC) has picked up two wins in a row, the most recent coming due to a weird injury situation over Jake Ellenberger earlier this month. Cerrone (32-7, 1 NC, 19-4 UFC) has now won four in a row since moving up to 170.
This isn’t the first time that the two fighters have used social media to try to book a fight – back in early 2015, they agreed to a fight on Twitter as well. This is back when both men were still competing at 155 pounds. Masvidal ended up fighting Al Iaquinta that time, while Cerrone ended up fighting John Makdessi a month later.
UFC on Fox 23 will be headlined by a women’s bantamweight fight between Valentina Shevchenko and Julianna Pena. If Cerrone vs. Masvidal is added to the card, you can probably bet that the fight would set as the co-main event. But we’ll have to wait to see if that’s the direction the UFC wants to go in.
