It seems Conor McGregor has won yet another fan. Former UFC light heavyweight title challenger, Glover Teixeira is the next guy to admit he enjoys McGregor’s antics inside the Octagon.
In fact, as Teixeira told Combate, he likes it so much that he even went as far as comparing McGregor’s style to that of boxing legend, Muhammad Ali.
“Of course he deserves the success he achieved, you can’t say otherwise. How I can say it’s not? He sells, he knows how to talk, he’s smart, he’s no fool. McGregor doesn’t fight, he just reacts, he’s never first to throw a punch. He goes in there to tease, not to fight. He’s like Muhammad Ali.”
“McGregor sells the show and fights well, he’s a real athlete who doesn’t get out of shape and is always training. He’s a high level guy who sells and deserves it. Who deserves it more than him? There’s no other. Maybe Mighty Mouse, but he doesn’t put on a show. McGregor does what he promises.”
Glover Teixeira was on a three-fight winning streak with stoppage wins over the likes of Ovince Saint-Preux, Patrick Cummins and Rashad Evans, until he got knocked out by Anhony Johnson in his last outing, on August 20.
