For months, Floyd Mayweather kept angling to fight Conor McGregor, even going as far as to praise his skills and say the UFC superstar can “push me to the limit.” Despite both camps’ willingness to make it happen, the fight never came to fruition, and the boxer seems to have changed his tune a little bit.

When asked about McGregor, Mayweather recently went on a bit of a rant and said how “disrespectful” it is to compare them. McGregor’s brief response to Mayweather’s elephant vs ant comments have since been recorded by TMZ.

“Do you believe him?” McGregor retorted, when asked about Mayweather saying he didn’t watch the UFC 205 victory. As for the rest of the rant, McGregor kept his reply simple.

“Tell him to say it to my face!” he said.

The talk about the cross-over fight between the two combat sports stars has basically died down a bit since it’s initial stage a couple of months back. With McGregor’s massive win in New York though, you can pretty much expect all these more casual and mainstream outlets to keep bringing that back up in their talking points.

UPDATE: McGregor said more during in an appearance at a night club, and says he’d fight Mayweather for $100 Million.

“Floyd’s not ready for this,” McGregor said Tuesday night”

“Much respect to Floyd. He’s a solid businessman on what he’s been able to do,” he said. “He’s a f—king animal at what he’s been able to do. But as far as real fighting, as far as true pure unarmed combat, Floyd don’t want none of this.”

“He wants a boxing match, he doesn’t want a fight,” he said. “I want a $100 million cash to fight him under boxing rules. He’s afraid of a real fight.”
