At UFC 205, Conor McGregor did exactly what he has always said he was going to do – make history. McGregor defeated Eddie Alvarez to claim the UFC Lightweight title and become the only fighter in UFC history to hold two belts at once.

After the fight, Submission Radio caught up with McGregor’s coach Owen Roddy to discuss what comes next for the now two-division champ. Asked about the possibility of McGregor moving up to Welterweight to pursue a third world title, Roddy had interesting thoughts to share:

“Yeah, who knows. I never rule anything out with Conor because he does special things all the time. Holding a third belt is definitely a possibility. We’ll just have to wait and see, I suppose.”

Roddy also clarified that nothing is yet determined regarding McGregor dropping one of the two titles he currently holds. He also gives his thoughts on the call out from Khabib Nurmagomedov, and how the news that McGregor and his girlfriend are expecting a child will impact McGregor’s timetable for a future fight.
