RIZIN openweight Grand Prix tournament brackets set for NYE show

RIZIN Fighting Federation announced the complete brackets for the second half of the openweight Grand prix tournament set to take place Saitama, Japan. The quarter-finals are scheduled to take place on December 29 while the semi-finals are set for the NYE show two days later.

Among the featured quarter-final match-ups is an anticipated contest between UFC veterans Wanderlei Silva and Mirko Crocop, as well as the return of Shane Carwin against Amir Aliakbari. According to the promotion, Jiri Prochazka will not be able to participate in December due to an injury. Tsuyoshi Kosaka will serve as his replacement.

The two-day event will also feature a rematch between Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett and Minoru Kimura, as well as Tatsuya Kawajiri against Kron Gracie.

Wanderlei Silva vs. Mirko Filipovic

Baruto vs. Tsuyoshi Kosaka

Shane Carwin vs. Amir Aliakbari

Valentine Moldavsky vs. Szymon Bajor

Semifinals:

Silva-Filipovic winner vs. Baruto-Kosaka winner

Carwin-Aliakbari winner vs. Moldavsky-Bajor winner
