It took 4 fights for UFC Fight Night: Dos Anjos vs. Ferguson to produce a finish, and wow it was a spectacular finish. Henry Briones ate some massive shots from Douglas Silva de Andrade, but somehow managed to stay upright into the 3rd round. Unfortunately for Briones, the accumulation of shots was too much, and the Brazilian put him away with a hard elbow and then a vicious spinning backfist that produced an instant stoppage.
Here’s Tim Burke’s play-by-play:
Round 3 – Both are coming up short on their punches so far. Finally a couple of jabs land for Silva. Briones ripped to the body twice and just missed with a flying knee. Hard combo from Silva. Hard head kick too. They start trading now, briefly. Briones has a cut on his nose. Briones clubs Silva with a right, but a counter elbow and a spinning backfist/elbow ends Briones! That’s it right there!
Douglas Silva de Andrade defeated Henry Briones by TKO (strikes), 2:33 of round 3
