Fight to Win Pro 14 Results: UFC vet kicks opponent off the stage

Fight to Win Pro continues to bring competitive grappling fans a bevy of events. Fight to Win Pro 14 was perhaps the most peculiar of them all as the main event matchup between Vagner Rocha and AJ Agazarm has been changed to a no-contest after a very controversial moment early in the match.

The main event matchup was initially declared a unanimous decision win for the former veteran of the UFC, Bellator and Strikeforce. But news broke on Sunday that the match was changed due to Rocha kicking Agazarm in the back, sending him flying from the stage and into the crowd.

Agazarm and Rocha’s fight started with intensity as both men pushed and pulled each other. What started out as grip fighting quickly grew contentious as Rocha took a swipe at Agazarm’s face. Agazarm would turn his back and then find himself flying through the air and into the crowd due to Rocha’s push kick. Before the situation could get any more intense, Fight to Win officials were able to step in and ensure that the match could continue. After regulation ended, Rocha was awarded the victory due to judges’ decision.

Fight to Win promoter, Seth Daniels, took to Facebook to explain the reason why this match was switched to a no-contest:

“After further consideration we have decided to change the result of the Vagner Rocha vs AJ Leão Agazarm match to a no contest. Had AJ decided not to continue the match Vagner would have been DQ’d,” Daniels posted. “AJ remains the #1 contender in gi and no-gi for the F2WPRO black belt middleweight title. Given the circumstances I stand by my decision to calm down the fighters and allow the match to continue. This was an unprecedented situation moving forward any intentional striking or shoving out of bounds will result in automatic disqualification.”

This isn’t the first time that Agazarm has found himself surrounded by controversy within the world of competitive grappling. He’s been very vocal about his stance against competing in Metamoris events due to his claims of not being paid for past appearances. Plus, he’s gotten into shoving matches with Jake Shields and Daniel Strauss during Polaris events.
