Big news out of the UFC’s Brazilian headquarters, as the man in charge of overseeing operations in Brazil has resigned. MMAjunkie reported on Friday that Giovani Decker, Senior Vice President and GM of Brazil, is leaving the company. UFC officials are expected to publicly announce the news shortly.

Decker manned last week’s post-fight press conference at UFC Fight Night 95 in Brasilia, but it is unknown if his resignation will be effective immediately, or if he’ll oversee UFC Fight Night 100 in Sao Paulo on November 19th. The UFC hired Decker in March 2015 following a long career in the Brazilian footwear industry, including a stint as president of ASICS Brazil, where he’d also previously been the brand’s General Manager and Vice President.

This news follows the impending retirement of longtime matchmaker and Senior Vice President of Talent Relations, Joe Silva, who’s been with the UFC for more than 20 years. Sean Shelby has since been promoted to Silva’s position, while former Legacy FC president Mick Maynard has been brought on as Vice President of Talent Relations, and will also serve as a matchmaker.
