As of late, Jon Jones’ UFC accomplishments have been somewhat overshadowed by his controversial antics outside of the cage.

Last year, the former pound-for-pound #1 pleaded guilty to a hit-and-run incident. This year, ‘Bones’ was pulled from one of the UFC’s biggest PPV’s after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs. The JacksonWink product was removed from his light heavyweight title unification bout with Daniel Cormier at UFC 200 after flagging for Hydroxy-clomiphene, an anti-estrogenic agent, as well Letrozole, an aromatase inhibitor.

Despite his unparalleled achievements, the future of Jones’ career is now in question and Tito Ortiz, a former UFC light heavyweight champion, believes the 29-year-old’s legacy has been tarnished.

“How stupid is this man? I just can’t perceive it, I don’t even understand it,” Ortiz said of Jones’ failed drug test to Daily Star Sport. “Through my long career of 19 years, I’ve never put the idea of using any type PEDS or anything like that. I’ve always been against it. When I fought against Forest Griffin, he had the exemption to use testosterone. And when I found out two days before the fight, I was like, ‘what the f**k are you guys doing here man?’

“Jon ‘Bones’ Jones, he had an opportunity to be one of the greatest ever and he’ll never be able to do that again – ever.”

Jones has denied knowingly using any performance-enhancing drugs and it’s looking like the former LHW kingpin could receive a reduced suspension or bypass a ban altogether.

Jones will appear before the Nevada Athletic Commission on October 10 and Bloody Elbow will keep you updated on the latest developments.
