Tyron Woodley on handling Demian Maia’s Jiu-Jitsu: ‘I’mma just bite him’

With a string of impressive performances, including his most recent one against Carlos Condit, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace Demian Maia will likely get a crack at Tyron Woodley’s world welterweight title. Apparently, it is something “The Chosen One” is already anticipating.

During a recent guesting at Din Thomas’ “Morning Wood with Deez Nuts” podcast, Woodley spoke about how he intends to deal with Maia’s top-notch grappling skills, should they end up facing each other.

“I’mma just bite him. I’mma bite him, let the referee get mad, (let him) take away a point, and I’m saying ‘whatever’. I’mma get back to my feet, and I’mma knock him down and make it even, then just make it ugly in the next few rounds.”

While Woodley was obviously making a comical situation out of it, he admits to have a high level or respect for Maia’s Jiu-Jitsu game, particularly with the latter’s finishes of Condit and Matt Brown. But at the same time, he promises that he won’t be suffering the same fate as the two aforementioned.

“Let me tell you something, Maia, you’re a** ain’t getting on my back when we get ready to scrap. You can write that sh*t all day, you ain’t getting back there, bro.”
