The UFC will have their second show in the Philippines on October 15, and they have just added two more bouts for the event. As the promotion announced on Monday, Japanese veteran Mizuto Hirota will take on Cole Miller in a featherweight contest.
Hirota is a former SRC and DEEP champ who made it back to the UFC after advancing to the final of their ‘Road to Japan’ reality show. The 35-year-old fought Teruto Ishihara to a draw on the tournament finale, and will look to notch his first ever victory in the UFC.
Miller on the other hand, will look to end a pretty rough 3-fight stretch on what would be his 20th UFC bout. The TUF 5 alum recently lost decisions to Alex Caceres and Max Holloway, and suffered a nasty eye poke against Jim Alers that led to a No Contest.
A strawweight bout has also been confirmed, and it will feature Korean slugger Seo Hee Ham and Danielle Taylor.
Ham has gone 1-2 in the UFC so far, with a win over Cortney Casey, and losses to Joanne Calderwood and Bec Rawlings. While both usually have to deal with much rangier fighters, Ham, who stands at 5’2, will finally enjoy a reach advantage when she faces the 5’0 Taylor.
UFC Manila will be headlined by B.J. Penn vs Ricardo Lamas. Here’s the current line up so far.
