Immediately after his instant classic of a bout against Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz was saying that he thought he won the fight, and that he only wants to complete the trilogy next.

“I’m not doing sh-t until we go for round three,” Diaz said at the UFC 202 post-fight press conference. “You won’t be seeing me until then. If they want to set it up as soon as possible, let’s do it. But I don’t think it’s a very good business move for him to be taking any other fights, and he’s a businessman, so we’ll see what happens.”

A day later, and it seems that he has softened his stance a bit. He now says he’s willing to return soon for a high profile bout.

“Only if it’s a big fight and a big deal on a big contract,” Diaz told Submission Radio about possibly returning against a different opponent. “If it’s worth it, if they’re going to pay me out good.”

What remained constant even after having a day to let everything sink in, was his belief that he won the contest.

“I watched the fight, I thought I won it for sure,” he said. “Yeah, last night I watched it. I think (I was winning) after the first round, all the way through.”

Diaz scored the highest payday of his career this past weekend, with his disclosed payday amounting to $2 million. This doesn’t include his fight of the night bonus, along with PPV points, sponsorship, and locker room bonuses that he may receive.
