Invicta FC 18 results and highlights: Grasso dominates Esquibel, Anderson wrecks Morgan
Bloody Elbow 2.0 | Anton Tabuena

Invicta FC 18 was filled with exciting fights, standout performances, and big finishes. Alexa Grasso stamped herself as the surefire #1 contender to Angela Hill’s strawweight belt with a dominant win over Jodie Esquibel. Grasso landed her basic 1-2 combination at will, stunned Esquibel multiple times, bloodied her up in the 2nd, displayed terrific takedown defense, and otherwise shut Esquibel’s offense down. The 22-year-old Mexico native even got a 10-8 on one judge’s scorecard.

Elsewhere on the card, Agnieszka Niedwiedz got a shutout victory over Christine Stanley, who was replacing Irene Aldana on just 4 days notice due to Visa issues. Stanley also missed the flyweight limit, so the late call-up resulted in her getting docked 25% of her purse and having her 2nd career loss on her record.

Jessamyn Duke just can’t get anything going right now. Cindy Dandois took her down within 10 seconds, then after Duke got back to her feet, Dandois took her down again and then quickly straightened her arm out and forced a tap. Duke was on her back in tears after suffering her 5th straight loss, which puts her overall record at 3-5 (1 NC).

Megan Anderson just beat the living daylights out Peggy Morgan in a featherweight contest. It looked for certain that Morgan had a broken cheekbone, but she says that nothing was broken, it was just horrifically swollen. Anderson knocked Morgan down late in the 1st and thankfully we were spared a really prolonged beatdown. It’s very reasonable to think that Anderson could fight Cris Cyborg for Cyborg’s title.

Highlights are available for viewing at the top of the page. Fight Pass also tweeted out the stoppage wins for Aspen Ladd and Sijara Eubanks.
