UFC 201 is right around the corner. Whether it be International Fight Week / UFC 200 Fatigue (look that up, it’s a real thing), or the buildup to the more name-recognizable-fighter-heavy UFC 202, this card is being seriously overlooked by many fans disappointed about the perceived lack of more major star power.

Still, this is a very promising card on various fronts, largely due to a title fight in what is undoubtedly one of the very best and deepest in the sport, and with a must-watch champion taking on a very tough test and one of the best pure athletes in any weight class.

Also on the docket is a fight that could determine the next challenger for the seemingly unstoppable Joanna Jedrzejczyk in a fight between the ever technical and exciting Karolina Kowalkiewicz taking on yet another guaranteed action fighter (that’s a fact) in Rose Namajunas.

Other bouts on this card include Matt Brown taking on Jake Ellenberger and the versatile and resilient Francisco Rivera taking on crafty grappler Erik Perez, as well as a flyweight fight between former title challenger Ian McCall taking on Justin Scoggins. The prelims will feature Ross Pearson taking on Jorge Masvidal as well as Ed Herman returning to the light heavyweight division to take on certified legend and human weapon Nikita Krylov.

UFC 201 takes place from the Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA this Saturday night with the main card kicking off at 10:00pm EST.
