Lance Pugmire of The LA Times has reported that Brock Lesnar tested positive for clomiphene. This is the same estrogen blocker that was found in Jon Jones’ system during an out-of-competition test, leading to his removal from UFC 200.

The UFC released a statement on Friday announcing Lesnar’s failed out of competition drug test. USADA informed Lesnar of the violation stemming from a drug test taken on June 28th. It was announced today that Lesnar also failed his pre-fight drug test, taken before his fight at UFC 200, for the same substance.

Lesnar has not gone public with what substance he tested positive for, but insists that he and his team would “get to the bottom of this.” USADA spokesperson Ryan Madden also noted that Lesnar had passed other drug tests prior to his positive test on June 28th.

Lesnar defeated Mark Hunt by unanimous decision at UFC 200, taking down Hunt in the 1st and 3rd rounds. The positive in-competition tests opens up the possibility that Lesnar’s win could be overturned to a DQ loss, while Hunt gets the victory.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission announced yesterday that Jon Jones tested positive for Hydroxy-clomiphene and Letrozole metabolite. Bloody Elbow’s Iain Kidd broke down why an athlete would use an estrogen blocking substance as a performance enhancer.
