TUF 23 Finale: Tatiana Suarez, Andrew Sanchez crowned TUF winners
Bloody Elbow 2.0 | Anton Tabuena

Your TUF 23 winners have been decided, and both were able to win in dominating fashion. Here’s how the two bouts went down.

Andrew Sanchez defeated Khalil Rountree by unanimous decision (30-25, 30-25, 30-26)

Yes, those are the correct scores. Sanchez, the undersized guy in the fight, completely dominated with his grappling. Six takedowns completely immobilized the undefeated fighter, planting him on his back for large portions of the fight. It wasn’t pretty to watch, but it was very effective. Sanchez said after the fight that he might even go down to welterweight after this.

Tatiana Suarez defeated Amanda Cooper by submission (D’Arce choke), 3:03 of round 1

Suarez was in a little bit of danger early, but it didn’t matter. After geting Cooper down and dropping some bombs, Cooper locked up an armbar against the cage. Suarez managed to escape, and got another takedown. Some hammerfists made Cooper try to pop out to the side, so she locked up a D’Arce. John McCarthy was out of position, so Cooper had to tap for a long time and even kick her legs before he noticed and called it off.
