UFC welterweight Colby Covington can relate to interim UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones in a way few can.
After high school and prior to his mixed martial arts career, Covington attended Iowa Central Community College, where he was a standout wrestler. At that time, he was the roommate of Jones. Covington and Jones no longer share a relationship, however, as the pair of future UFC fighters went their own ways after their respective wrestling careers.
Covington has criticized Jones’ actions in the past, and recently reacted to the pound-for-pound king’s removal from UFC 200 for a potential violation of USADA’s anti-doping policy.
Can’t say I’m surprised. https://t.co/F2eVRTRXEb
