The UFC has been uploading several of Fedor Emelianenko’s most memorable fights to Youtube, as he nears his EFN main event clash against Fabio Maldonado on Friday, June 17th. Today’s video is Fedor’s unforgettable (and incredibly short) match with the late Kevin Randleman on June 20th, 2004 at PRIDE Critical Countdown.
Emelianenko had just submitted Mark Coleman in April, while Randleman had sensationally and improbably knocked out Mirko Cro Cop on the same night. That set the stage for Fedor and Randleman to meet in the quarterfinals of this PRIDE heavyweight GP, and it was 93 seconds of madness. Fedor won by kimura, but not before surviving an insanely violent and beautifully executed Randleman suplex just moments prior to the bout’s conclusion. You can watch the video — I’m sure you have 3 minutes and 4 seconds to spare — at the top of the page by pressing the play button.
Bloody Elbow will have live coverage of Fedor vs. Maldonado, which airs exclusively on UFC Fight Pass starting at 11 AM ET/8 AM PT.
