Reports surfaced on Saturday that Brock Lesnar is in “serious talks” about a return at UFC 200, and could be finalized soon. An ESPN interview has since been released, and if Dana White is to be believed, the UFC heavyweight champion isn’t likely to return to active competition soon.
Apart from the report, the UFC.com website also recently added then immediately deleted from the active roster. When asked point blank if Lesnar is returning, the UFC president laughed.
“Listen, Lesnar had a great run here. He retired, I think at the right time. He had a good run, now he’s with the WWE,” White said. “When he signed that deal with the WWE, I thought it was the right thing to do.”
Lesnar went 5-3 in his career and was one of the biggest pay-per-view draws ever for the promotion. Despite his inexperience, he won the heavyweight title on his 4th bout and was UFC champion from 2008-2010.
