It didn’t take long for Michael Bisping to respond to Chris Weidman’s dismissive comments on The MMA Hour.

Weidman, who was forced to pull out of UFC 199 due to a neck injury, ridiculed ‘The Count’ and suggested he’s the easiest opponent in title fight history.

Bisping received the call to take on Luke Rockhold for the middleweight title following Weidman’s withdrawal, which will mark his first ever UFC title shot despite competing in the organization for ten years.

The 37-year-old veteran fired back at Weidman at the UFC 199 open workouts on Wednesday, per Marc Raimondi of MMA Fighting.

“Chris Weidman is a very, very bitter individual for somebody that spouts on about Jesus,” Bisping said. “He just needs to take a step back and go read the Bible some more. Take heed to his own words. Don’t be bitter. He hurt himself, simple as that. It had nothing to do with me. I didn’t hurt his neck. Did I hurt his neck? What the f*ck has that got to do with me, pal?”

Before Bisping was ultimately selected to challenge Rockhold for the belt, Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza was also a likely candidate to replace Chris Weidman. The Brazilian, however, declined the opportunity due to a meniscus injury.

Bisping continued by insulting Souza and the rest of the UFC roster, claiming that half of them are ‘pussies’ that pull out of fights.

“Two years, two weeks, two months, two days,” Bisping said. “I don’t care. Half of this UFC roster are pussies. They wouldn’t take this fight. ‘Jacare’ wouldn’t take this fight. It makes me sick. I’ll fight anyone, any time, any place. I just proved that. I took a fight on two weeks notice. I’m gonna walk off a movie set, I’m gonna walk into the Octagon, I’m gonna take Luke Rockhold’s belt. He’s gonna lie on the floor, he’s gonna wake up looking at the stars [and say], ‘Fuck! This guy just beat me on two weeks notice.'”

Rockhold vs. Bisping will headline the UFC 199 PPV — co-headlined by Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber III — at The Forum in Inglewood, California on June 4.
