This week, the MMA Hour is doing a “very special episode” featuring former lightweight title contender, and the only man to beat Conor McGregor in the UFC, Nate Diaz. the show aired live at 4pm EST/1pm Pacific on Wednesday, May 25th.
Diaz was supposed to fight Conor McGregor in a rematch of their UFC 196 bout, this July at UFC 200. Unfortunately, McGregor’s own interpretation of his promotional obligations to the UFC started a spat between the promoter and the fighter which has since scuttled the plans for a second McGregor/Diaz fight.
Most recently, it sounds like McGregor has returned to the fold and reports of a favorable meeting between the featherweight champ and the UFC brass seemed to have talks for the Diaz bout back on the table. However, it sounds like UFC talks with Diaz didn’t go nearly as well, with Dana White apparently walking out on negotiations.
So, what’s Nate’s side of the story? What does he think of McGregor’s talk about boxing Floyd Mayweather? Does anything surprise him? Tune in and find out.
