Paige VanZant joined two other couples on the Dancing With The Stars finale on Monday night, where the UFC star and her partner Mark Ballas performed the Salsa and a freestyle dance that wowed the judges. The salsa was the duo’s pick during ‘redemption’ stage, as they wanted to redo the week where Ballas bowed out and was replaced after an injury.
The performance, which drew total scores of 29/30, can be seen above.
Their second was a freestyle number, with a live performance accompanying the dance. The performance left Mark Ballas, and two of the judges, in tears.
“It’s a really special moment. I’ve been on this show now 18 seasons in a row, and I’m so proud of this girl for how far she’s come,” Ballas said while in tears. “She’s completely opened up from when I saw her the first day, she’s completely changed.”
“I’m not really a crier,” he said. “I don’t know what’s happening to me right now.”
They scored a perfect 30/30, bringing their total to 59/60 for the night, and the highest during the Finale. The winner of the entire season will be revealed on Tuesday after all the votes have been tallied.
The UFC prospect’s popularity has grown immensely since joining the show. She even notched a movie role at the latest Kickboxer sequel, after producers saw her on Dancing With the Stars.
