Dana White is having to fend off all sorts of rumors this week. One of the biggest is that his promotion might be up for sale. Another is the lengthy saga involving top draw Conor McGregor. You surely know by now that McGregor was pulled from UFC 200 after a spat with the promotion over…well, promotion.

Since then, both McGregor and retired superstar boxer Floyd Mayweather have been drumming up interest in a potential boxing bout between the two. There have been declarations from fathers, posters, and even UFC announcers analyzing how the fight might go. There’s just one problem with that though – according to the UFC, it’s not going to happen.

White was a guest on The Dan Patrick Show today and put that rumor to rest quickly, while leaving the door somewhat open for something else entirely:

“Conor McGregor is under contract with the UFC. Listen, if Floyd wants to fight Conor, call me, Floyd.”

In other words, White would be interested in bringing Floyd into the Octagon for that bout. But don’t expect it in a boxing ring any time soon.
