Amanda Nunes feels like her time has come. During a press conference, the number one female bantamweight contender told Portal do Vale Tudo she believes to have all the tools necessary to dethrone current champion, Miesha Tate.
“I believe that Miesha, as a fighter, has a lot of holes in her game. In the stand up or on the ground, I have all the tools to beat Miesha and I will show it to all of you. She can be defeated. If it’s my time, I will win. Standing up or on the ground, it doesn’t matter.”
Amanda Nunes earned her title shot after three wins in a row – a TKO of Shayna Baszler, a submission win over Sara McMann and a decision victory over Valentina Shevchenko. Now, she will meet Tate at UFC 200, in one of its three title fights.
UFC 200 is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 9, and will also feature an interim featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar and a light heavyweight title unification bout between champion Daniel Cormier and interim champion Jon Jones.
