Julio Cesar Chaves is without a doubt the most iconic figure of the Mexican boxing scene. During an ESPN broadcast, the now 53-year old legend met the most popular UFC fighter with Mexican-American heritage to date, Cain Velasquez.
Chavez handed the former UFC heavyweight champion one of his signature shirts and praised his boxing skills. “I’ve seen your videos. You’re hitting the bag hard. Looks good,” he told Velasquez and offered to show him some of his boxing secrets. “We can train whenever you want, so you can hit him harder.” Velasquez gratefully agreed.
