As of this posting, UFC featherweight world champion Conor McGregor will not be headlining UFC 200 against Nate Diaz in a non-title welterweight rematch.
While he did create a loud buzz once again through a single tweet on Monday, stating that he was back on the card, UFC execs eventually shut it down. Diaz then tweeted the next day, reiterating his statement from Friday’s press conference about taking a vacation if the McGregor fight does not push through.
But if it were up to Dana White, Diaz would still be part of UFC 200. Speaking to TMZ, the outspoken UFC president revealed that they still have a “long list” of people to fight the former lightweight title contender.
“It’s up to him. He obviously won the first fight, he stepped up to take the second fight with Conor, and the thing fell apart. But we’ll give him a list of other guys, and if he wants it, he can have it.”
