It’s no surprise to see Jose Aldo mocking Conor McGregor for missing out on Friday’s mega press conference. Aldo, who lost his featherweight title to McGregor at UFC 194, sniped at the Irishman on Twitter last week.
Training here in Vegas last night. Because some of us can train while still promoting the fight. @ufc @Reebok pic.twitter.com/vRIb5DDRVS

As the story goes, ‘The Notorious’ abruptly announced his retirement last week which followed with the UFC removing him from his main event slot with Nate Diaz at UFC 200. McGregor then released a lengthy Facebook statement explaining that he was still training hard for Diaz but wanted some time off from promotional work. The 145-pound champ believes he’s earned some special treatment because of the revenue he’s generated for the company in the past.
Everyone flew in. Respect.
But not everyone up there made the company 400million in 8 months.— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) April 22, 2016
However, the UFC have refused to budge from their position and Dana White stated that McGregor is likely to return against Jose Aldo or Frankie Edgar to defend his featherweight championship.
McGregor’s absence from UFC 200 is a huge blow to the card, as his first blockbuster fight with Diaz is estimated to have secured 1.5 million pay-per-view buys.
Jose Aldo will take on Frankie Edgar for the interim FW belt at the event, which is scheduled to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 9th.
