The UFC is back in Australia with a big FS1 card, headlined by veteran heavyweights Mark Hunt and Frank Mir.
As with most Heavyweight fights, the fight started with both fighters getting use to the reach of each person. Hunt threw some big looping punches at the beginning of the round that barely missed Mir. Towards the middle of the round Mir began to counter the looping right hand by ducking down and clinching. Instead of throwing a looping right hand, Hunt threw a straight right directly to the temple of Frank Mir, sending him to the canvas. In classic Mark Hunt style, he walked away from Mir before the referee could step in to stop the fight.

After the fight Mark Hunt thanked the Australian fans for supporting him.
“There’s always a winner and loser. Frank is a good dude, and I appreciate everyone coming out here to watch us,” said Hunt in the post-fight interview.
