Miesha Tate takes on Holly Holm at UFC 196, with their championship bout being co-headliner to the highly anticipated match between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz.
Following their open workouts, the former Strikeforce champ in Tate spoke about the contrasting atmosphere between these two bouts.
“Conor is hilarious. He always keeps things light hearted, I’m always laughing whenever we’re engaged in something like that. And now that we have Nate in there, it’s funny because we have these two flipping each other off, and Holly and I are making each other friendship bracelets,” Tate said with a laugh.
“A bit of a contrast (from my last title fight against Rousey), to say the least.”
Tate and Holm shot a movie together a few months back, where the two got to know each other better. Miesha even said she plans on having a beer with Holly right after their bout.
“She was super sweet, super nice, and I have nothing but great things to say about her. Everyone is wondering if you like someone, is it harder to fight her? Absolutely not,” she said. “I didn’t get into this sport to fight people I hate. I got into this sport to fight the best in the world.”
“That’s all the motivation I need. She’s the champion. She’s the best in the world, and I will try to take that from her.”
