Still without a scheduled fight after his 13-second KO loss to Conor McGregor last December, former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo had his first staredown since his last contest. It wasn’t against anyone people would have expected, though.
Invited as a guest for the second day of Claro Apresenta Rio Open, the biggest tennis tournament in South America, Aldo ran into cartoon character SpongeBob Squarepants, who promptly asked for a staredown against Aldo as Portal do Vale Tudo reported. See the photo in the tweet below:
As for his fighting career, Aldo still would like to fight for a UFC title in his next outing or a rematch against Conor McGregor, whether it’s for the belt or not. However, “The Notorious” will fight current UFC lightweight champion, Rafael dos Anjos, in a superfight at UFC 196 on March 5th in Las Vegas.
