Luke Rockhold on rematch: Weidman goes down in two rounds

It was announced last week that Luke Rockhold would make his first title defense as UFC Middleweight Champion against the man he defeated to win the title, Chris Weidman.

The fight is set for UFC 199 with no location or date set in stone. Rockhold does not know that exact location or date, but guessed that the fight would take place in June and on the West Coast.

Rockhold made a more confident prediction about the event to Bloody Elbow’s Michael Hutchinson.

“Weidman goes down in two [rounds]. I’m putting him away in half the time. I almost feel bad about this next one,” Rockhold said.

Weidman’s head coach Ray Longo recently stated that Weidman fought Rockhold with a broken foot. Rockhold doesn’t think that Weidman’s injuries played a big factor in the outcome.

“I think it’s a joke. They know my situation. I was on antibiotics and I still whopped his ass.”

Although Weidman’s camp has been vocal about his injuries, the former champion has been vocal about making no excuses for his performance and that Rockhold was the better man that night. [MMAFighting]
