Jose Aldo still hasn’t changed his mind about having his rematch against Conor McGregor, although he caved in a little bit this afternoon when he posted a lengthy message to his fans on Instagram. According to the former champion, he is willing to fight Conor McGregor even if there is no title on the line, but that’s as far as he goes.
“Hi everyone, I was quiet for a while because I was waiting for my rematch based on how the fight went down. In fact, I was already training for it, but apparently I was wrong. So I wanted to make something clear for the UFC. For everything I have done, everything I have accepted and mostly how the fight ended, I will not accept any other fight other than a title shot. My only exception would be fighting The Notorious, at any time, anywhere. Since he is scared and knows I’m gonna win, it doesn’t have to be a title fight against him. Keep my belt, but I want to whoop your ass anywhere. Dana White, Lorenzo Fertitta, UFC, keep your word. I still believe in the company I work for.”
Jose Aldo lost the UFC featherweight title to Conor McGregor back at UFC 194, in December. “The Notorious” now will fight Rafael dos Anjos for the lightweight title at UFC 197, on March 5.
