Edmond Tarverdyan was in Travis Browne’s corner for his fight with Matt Mitrione at UFC Fight Night: Dillashaw vs. Cruz in Boston, MA. It was the Glendale Fight Club coach’s first UFC appearance since he came under fire for his coaching performance in Ronda Rousey’s knockout loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193.

While he’s cornered his fighters in Australia and Massachusetts in recent months, for the time being, he does not have a seconds license in California. The California State Athletic Commission’s next meeting (on February 2nd) notes that Tarverdyan’s appeal of his license revocation is #7 on the agenda list.

Details are unclear at this point as to when Tarverdyan lost his license, but according to Sherdog’s Greg Savage, who asked CSAC executive director Andy Foster about why it was pulled, it’s for falsifying information on his official application.

Combat Sports Law’s Erik Magraken also notes that “….being licensed in other ABC member jurisdictions may also prove problematic during the course of the revocation as members typically honor each others suspensions.”

We’ll have more information on Tarverdyan’s license issues as more details become available, but for now, California is a no-go for him as far as cornering his fighters. Of course, that may be the least of his worries just in the state of California.
