Shortly after Dominick Cruz put up an incredible performance to win back his UFC title, people naturally wanted to know what he has got planned after. When asked about what he would want next, he didn’t choose between any of the possible rematches that people wanted to see in either T.J. Dillashaw, Urijah Faber, or Demetrious Johnson.
“You know, I want to sit down with Dana (White), I want to sit down with Lorenzo (Fertitta) and talk about some money,” Cruz told MMA Fighting about his next move. “That’s what I want to do. All those guys you mentioned are so good, that I just want to get paid for it. Then I’ll take any of them out.”
Cruz also briefly mentioned a bit about money while talking about his injured foot during the post-fight press conference.
“My knee is good. It was my left foot. I had a foot injury when I came in. Plantar fasciitis tendonitis, lots of golfers get it,” Cruz said. “I wish I was a golfer, it would be a lot easier, and more money.”
“Football players get it when they plant on their back foot, Runners get it. It’s a normal thing. It will heal. It will be fine.”
Dominick’s last bout against Takeya Mizugaki got him a disclosed salary of $50,000 to show and $50,000 to win. Before that, his title defense against Faber netted him $20,000 and $20,000.
