
The big fight night is finally upon us. UFC 194: Aldo vs. McGregor takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena from Las Vegas, Nevada, and Bloody Elbow has live coverage and play-by-play of all of tonight’s action, including the main event featherweight championship unification bout between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor.
UFC 194: Aldo vs. McGregor live results and play-by-play for PPV main card
Before the PPV main card begins, we have seven preliminary card bouts, including four on Fox Sports 1. Headlining the televised portion of the UFC 194 prelims is #4 ranked bantamweight Urijah Faber against #13 Frankie Saenz. Also featured it women’s strawweight contender Tecia Torres (ranked #5), who will welcome late-notice replacement Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger to the Octagon. Rounding out the FS1 broadcast are welterweight prospects Warlley Alves and Colby Covington, as well as lightweight prospect Kevin Lee vs. TUF Brazil 2 winner Leonardo Santos.
Live results and play-by-play (by Dallas Winston) will commence with the UFC Fight Pass stream at approximately 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m PT, then continue on Fox Sports 1 at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT. Urijah Faber vs. Frankie Saenz
R1: Faber scores first with a straight jump knee to the body. Saenz clinches up and Faber lands a nasty side elbow. Saenz chops out Faber’s leg with an inside low kick. Outside low kick lands for Faber and Saenz counters with a knee to the body when they clinch. Faber cracks him with another sneaky elbow before separating.
Another straight jump knee lands to the body for Faber. Hard lead right to the body lands for Faber but the feisty Saenz tags him with a counter. Outside low kick lands for Saenz. They both land elbows after a clinch break. Saenz tries the jump knee but it’s not there. It is on the next engagement though, landing downstairs. 10-9 Faber in a tight round.
R2: Faber goes to southpaw and throws a left high kick but Saenz walks right into his knee, and it sends him flailing back against the cage. Faber pounces with a brutal volley of left and right elbows, then switches to thudding knees to the body. Saenz hangs tough and clinches up but Faber takes him down and lands in the crucifix. Saenz uses his trapped arm as a cradle and reverses to top position. Faber gets back to his feet but Saenz body-locks him against the fence.
Faber circles off the fence and breaks free though Saenz punishes the body with another knee on the way out. Inside low kick lands for Saenz. Saenz chops out Faber’s leg with a kick and he loses his footing. Faber glances with a straight right as Saenz initiates a clinch. Another inside low kick for Saenz. Now one lands outside. Faber catches the next kick and gets Saenz partially down but he recovers, defends and separates. Clean lead uppercut lands to the jaw for Saenz. 10-9 Faber.
R3: Saenz starting to key on Faber’s ducked head, throwing uppercuts and shovel punches in the pocket. Saenz forces a clinch and shoots a double leg but Faber gets a wide base and separates. Faber lands a counter right but Saenz digs into his leg with another inside low kick. Saenz loses his balance on a sloppy kick and Faber tags him with a right.
Saenz answers with a right and then lands another outside low kick. Clinch uppercut lands for Saenz but Faber answers with a punch on the break. Saenz lands a body kick but it connects with the foot. Faber snatches a body lock on the next clinch and takes Saenz down, pinching his legs together to prevent the get-up. Saenz takes a knee and Faber switches to a body lock; Saenz pummels under and grazes with a body knee to separate. Saenz shoots a takedown and loses position, then angles for a heel hook as the horn sounds. 10-10. I have it 30-28 Faber.

Jocelyn Lybarger vs. Tecia Torres
R1: Lybarger commands the fringe with long and crisp punches. Torres bursts forward with a pair of step-in rights that land. Another straight-line right/left combo from Torres and she follows with a low kick. Torres stings with another combo; she’s leaning left and digging left hands, then coming high with a right. Now a counter right lands clean for Torres, then a lead right.
Lybarger rushes forward and Torres clinches up and puts her on the fence, looking for a body lock. Torres with a foot stomp and a knee to the body, then she starts with a single leg and switches to a double. Good takdown defense from Lybarger. Short left hands from Torres with a strong right underhook. Lybarger uses a strong whizzer to circle off the fence but Torres puts her back on it. 10-9 Torres.
R2: Lybarger stays long with punches but Torres lands a compact right in the pocket. They clinch up and Lybarger is able to put Torres on the fence with a clinch, and keeps her there briefly. Torres circles off and separates, Lybarger lands a shot downstairs on the break. Lybarger lowers her level to shuck off a Torres takedown attempt and pins her on the fence.
Torres circles off the fence and looks for a head-and-arm throw that Lybarger defends. They separate and Torres ducks her head and lands two more short rights. Lybarger shoots a takedown and Torres counter-wrestles to land on top, in half guard. Short left forearms from Torres on top. Lybarger throws a few elbows from her back. Torres cradles a leg and lands punches, Lybarger rolls into a legit leg lock attempt but the horn sounds. 10-9 Torres.
R3: Lybarger follows a one-two into the clinch but Torres reverses position with double underhooks. Lybarger makes some space and they separate. Torres with another leaning right hand. Lybarger corners her but Torres lands a left front kick to the body with her back on the fence. Lybarger answers with a body kick. Lybarger again pressures Torres into a corner but eats a right hand before Torres circles out.
Lybarger steers Torres into a corner and shoots a single leg; Torres spikes down a hard elbow and then circles off the fence. Torres glides forward with an artful set of rights and lefts, then sits down on a right hand as Lybarger covers up and defends. Lybarger clinches up defensively to stem the tide and they separate with 20 seconds left. They collide throwing punches and a heavy left from Lybarger gets through. 10-9 Torres. I have it 30-27 Torres.

Warlley Alves vs. Colby Covington
R1: Alves lands a heavy right body kick and presses forward aggressively. Covington changes levels and takes him down. Alves with a quick get-up but Covington tries to switch to a single, but bails on it to throw a hard left elbow. Alves switches from a vice-lock left underhook to the front headlock, then cinches on a vicious guillotine. Covington stands upright in the hold, then slams Alves but it’s too tight and he taps.

Kevin Lee vs. Leonardo Santos
R1: They trade kicks from range. Lee throws straight punches down the pocket anytime Santos gets close. A jab lands for Santos followed by a glancing right cross. Another jab for Santos. And another. Lee ducks the next right and lands a body kick. Lee lands a right downstairs and Santos responds with a duck-under takedown.
Lee creates space with a butterfly hook but Santos hops on his back during the escape. Lee disallows the hooks and then hand-fights the grip to escape and separate. Lee uses a left high kick to set up a right hand. Santos, with perfect timing, sits down on a straight and it puts Lee on his butt. Santos pounces with punches and Lee somewhat recovers, but eats too many shots for referee John McCarthy.

Magomed Mustafaev vs. Joe Proctor
R1: Proctor with a pair of inside low kicks, then a front kick to the body. Proctor fakes a level change and comes high with punches, landing a left hand. Mustafaev fires a few heaters that put Proctor into retreat mode, then gets a jogging start for a crushing left kick to the body. Mustafaev swarms with punches, grabs the double collar tie when Proctor ducks and covers and drops him with a knee to the head. A few more pouncing punches and the ref jumps in.

John Makdessi vs. Yancy Medeiros
R1: Inside leg kick opens things up for Makdessi. Glancing lead-leg side kick to the body for Makdessi. Medeiros out on the fringe flicking long kicks and jabs. Another front-leg side kick to the body for Makdessi. Medeiros trying to find a way inside but Makdessi double jabs and circles. Inside leg kick now for Makdessi.
Long jab lands for Medeiros. Makdessi eats an outside low kick but corners Medeiros and lands a front-leg hook kick to the body. Glancing right from Medeiros. Medeiros being uncharacteristically patient. Makdessi scores with a spinning kick to the ribs. More kicks from outside by Medeiros, who’s switching stances a lot. 10-9 Makdessi.
R2:Lead jab to the body from Makdessi. Medeiros switches to southpaw and tries a back elbow, then glances with a left cross. More quick, flicking inside low kicks from Makdessi with his lead leg. Front-leg side kick lands to the body for Makdessi, who attacks with a nasty spinning kick to the face that lands with the foot.
Two glancing jabs land for Medeiros followed by a one-two. Now a right hand slips through for Medeiros. Lead left to the body from Medeiros. Makdessi lands a jab, checks a kick and lands another left. Medeiros rushes him to force a clinch, putting Makdessi on the fence. He off-balances Medeiros before circling off the fence and separating. More quick inside low kicks from Makdessi. A glancing left cross from Medeiros, who lands a left but eats a counter. 10-9 Makdessi.
R3:Makdessi steps inside a Medeiros kick to land a snapping left. Now a left hand to the body from Makdessi but his lead-leg hook kick is blocked. Medeiros prods with several left hands that land short. Left hook upstairs followed by a left low kick from Makdessi. A one-two from Medeiros but they’re landing at the far-end of his punching arc.
Outside low kick from Makdessi, then a counter left after dodging a punch. Makdessi glances with a one-two and a front kick to the body. Slip right hand is there for Medeiros. Makdessi doubles up on lefts, landing one upstairs and one down. Hard left hook/right cross from Makdessi blasts Medeiros’ mouthpiece loose. Medeiros clocks Makdessi with a tight counter hook at the end of the round and it looks to have wobbled him pretty seriously. 10-10 for Medeiros’ late-round outburst. I have it 30-28 Makdessi.

Marcio Alexandre Jr. vs. Court McGee
R1: McGee marches out of his corner and lands a heavy roundhouse kick to the body. Alexandre answers with a left kick to the same spot. Alexandre comes high with the next left kick and it glances. McGee darts into the clinch and puts Alexandre on the fence. McGee goes for a high crotch but Alexandre circles off the fence during the transition.
Alexandre clips him with a straight left. Another left cross scores for Alexandre as McGee’s coming in. Alexandre glances with a third but he takes a kick below the belt and we pause while he recovers. Alexandre sights in another left counter and McGee ducks it to land a spinning back fist. McGee forces another clinch and Alexandre falls back for a sacrifice guillotine. McGee pulls his head out and gets in a few punches from on top. 10-9 Alexandre.
R2: McGee glances with a right hand. Alexandre lands a left body kick and McGee answers with an inside low kick before clinching. McGee holds position in the 50/50 clinch. Alexandre circles off the fence unscathed. Grazing left cross from Alexandre.
McGee clinches again and gets the body lock but Alexandre lowers his level to hide his hips from the double-leg attempt. McGee keeps him on the cage, throwing a few short knees to the thigh, then tries to switch to a single leg. They trade short knees to the body. McGee tries another double leg but Alexandre’s takedown defense is solid. They’re split up with a minute left. McGee lands a nice right/left counter. Alexandre glances with a straight left. 10-10.
R3: Alexandre flings a few lefts in McGee’s face to back him off. McGee clinches up and hits a trip takedown. Alexandre immediately takes a knee and hand-fights McGee as he’s regaining his footing. McGee lands a few short pitter-patters on the clinch break. McGee counters Alexandre’s kick with a straight right. Alexandre glances with a left counter. And another, followed by a left body kick. McGee sneaks in a right hand and clinches up.
McGee again keeps Alexandre on the fence but can’t complete a takedown. McGee changes levels and scoops Alexandre up; Alexandre switches to a guillotine but McGee takes him down and peels his head out. Short left forearms from McGee in Alexandre’s closed guard. McGee keeps Alexandre’s head jammed on the cage, throwing hard right and left elbows. 10-9 McGee. I have it a 29-29 draw.
