Emotions are still high after Ronda Rousey’s upset loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193. The Olympic bronze medalist was brutally KO’d via head kick and punches in round 2, losing a title that “Rowdy” almost seemed inseparable from.

The loss sent fans and fighters into a frenzy, with many declaring that Rousey had been exposed by Holm. Alistair Overeem spoke about the fight to Ariel Helwani at Jackson’s MMA.

“We were watching the fight on the big screen – 3,000 people – and everybody was into the fight from the 1st second,” Overeem said. “And when she won the whole place just went bananas. For me, Ronda Rousey had this thing about her. I mean, she is really good – the way she finished her opponents. But again, now it’s like it’s entirely turned around. Right? She had beaten some girls but who did she really beat? She was definitely exposed.”

The 28-year-old bull rushed her opponent from the get-go, but Holm managed to evade Rousey’s strikes and counter with 1-2 combinations of her own. After exhausting Ronda by the end of the 1st round, “The Preacher’s Daughter” nailed her with a head kick and followed up with ground and pound, prompting referee Herb Dean to wave the fight off.

Since losing the bantamweight title, Rousey has kept a low profile and shied away from the media. The former champion made a brief statement on Instagram shortly after the loss, promising to return to the Octagon after taking some time off.

Alistair Overeem is scheduled to take on Junior dos Santos in a highly anticipated heavyweight matchup at UFC on FOX: dos Anjos vs. Cerrone 2 on December 19th.
