Pfister: Sage Northcutt ‘probably doesn’t have a chin’, has been ‘hand fed’ his whole life

Next Thursday, fast-rising UFC newcomer Sage Northcutt is set to take on 17-fight veteran Cody Pfister in his second outing in the UFC and only his seventh pro MMA fight overall. The ultra-popular 19-year old finished all of his previous opponents, most of them in the first round. With his technical pedigree and fetching looks, many believe the long-time karate practitioner could be the UFC’s next big superstar.

But Pfister doesn’t believe the hype.

“Sage is very young, so that’s a big advantage for me,” he said on the first episode of UFC Fight Pass Embedded, the video-blog series for December 10th’s UFC Fight Night. “The kid probably doesn’t have a chin. From the looks of it, he’s real rich and stuff. He’s probably been hand fed, given everything his whole life. Everything I have I’ve worked for. We got a pretty stacked weight division, he’s one of the easier guys I could’ve gotten. I’m gonna go put him down and show everybody it’s all just hype.”

Pfister and Northcutt will square off December 10 at UFC Fight Night 80 in Las Vegas, NV, headlined by a strawweight bout between Rose Namajunas and Paige VanZant, which will air exclusively on UFC Fight Pass.
