Middleweight Hisaki Kato, who laid out Glory kickboxer Joe Schilling with a Superman punch at Bellator 139, meets renowned striker Melvin Manhoef in the main event. In the co-main, NCAA D1 wrestling champion Bubba Jenkins draws once-beaten up-and-comer Jordan “Pretty Boy” Parsons. Rounding out the five-fight ensemble on Spike TV are welterweights Chidi Njokuani vs. Ricky Rainey, a rematch between lightweights Derek Campos and Brandon Girtz, and veteran Houston Alexander vs. Guilherme Viana in a light-heavyweight bout.

Hisaki Kato vs. Melvin Manhoef
R1: Manhoef comes up short on a counter left hook a minute in. The next one lands for Manhoef. Kato rushes him with both hands whirring; among the wild swings, both look to land. Kato with a clean counter left right down the pipe. Now a reactive left body kick from Kato. Kato jams a high kick, lands a front kick to the body and then a left hand. Kato swarms with punches, backing Manhoef into a corner. Manhoef covers up to deflect a few blows, then erupts into an utterly violent left hook that floors Kato on the spot. And that’s a wrap.

Derek Campos vs. Brandon Girtz
R1: Campos jabs from range to set up a one-two. Girtz unbolts a left cross that grazes but lunges forward with a pair of cleaving right hands, both of which land and put Campos out.

Bubba Jenkins vs. Jordan Parsons
R1: Jenkins gets in on a double leg, then hits a belly-to-back suplex after securing the rear waist lock. Parsons gets back to his feet with Jenkins in tow with the seat-belt position. Parson spins to face him and then separates. Parsons has a high kick blocked. Jenkins lands a left downstairs before blocking another high kick. Perfect duck-under takedown from Jenkins after Parsons backs him into the fence.
Jenkins again gets the rear waist lock but can’t keep the position. Parsons with a sharp counter right upstairs, then a glancing right cross. Jenkins grazes with a left body kick. Parsons does the same with a right body kick. Parsons glances with a pair of punches while closing the gap. Parsons steps in to jam a spinning kick from Jenkins, then impressively stuffs a double leg attempt. Parsons lands short lefts while restraining Jenkins in the front headlock. Jenkins lands a quick knee to the head as they’re separating that was close to being illegal. 10-10.
R2: Jenkins whiffs on a kick and then shoots but Parsons lowers his level and defends. Lead right hand lands for Jenkins. Parsons scores with a knee to the body. Counter up-knee glances for Parsons. Jenkins flings out a left high kick and it crumples Parsons to the floor. Jenkins swarms with short lefts as Parsons looks for a counter single.
Jenkins with the front headlock but it allows Parsons precious time to recover. Parsons rolls into a kimura and it’s close but Jenkins bashes his way free with hammer-fists. Parsons gets back to his feet but Jenkins takes him back down. Parsons leans over for a kimura in full guard but his head is jammed against the fence. 10-9 Jenkins.
R3: Jenkins lands a lead right. No dice on Jenkins’ spinning kick. Jenkins fakes a shot to open up a clean right to the head. Parsons sprawls on a double leg and cinches on a strong front headlock. Jenkins pops his head out and Parsons carefully lands knees to the sternum. Jenkins stands back up and gets in kimura position to stifle Parsons takedown attempt.
Jenkins separates and nails a double-leg in open space. Parsons sits up on the cage and Jenkins squeezes his legs together and holds him on the fence. Parsons circles off the fence and falls back for a guillotine. Jenkins frees his head and Parsons squirms back to his feet. 10-9 Jenkins. I have it 30-28 Jenkins.

Chidi Njokuani vs. Ricky Rainey
R1: Njokuani peels off a crisp inside low kick, then switches to southpaw. Alternating leg front kick for Njokuani as Rainey enters into the clinch. A strong left under-hook and short rights for Rainey with Njokuani stuck on the fence. A quick knee to the body from Njokuani. Rainey switches to a body lock and lands short knees to the thighs.
Rainey breaks the clinch with a right elbow and a thunderous left hook that stuns Njokuani, then ties him up again. More knees to the thighs from Rainey. Even more knees and they have to be taking their toll. Slick spinning elbow to the head from Rainey, who re-clinches after the blow. They’re separated by the ref with a half-minute left. Rainey shoots a low single on the reset; Njokuani sprawls and gets in rear waist cinch position. 10-9 Rainey.
R2: Rainey catches a Njokuani kick and converts it into a takedown. Njokuani threatens with a triangle, then uses the space to stand back up and put Rainey on the fence. Chopping left hook from the clinch lands for Njokuani. Rainey half-hits a head-and-arm throw and Njokuani disengages. Rainey rushes him on the reset and puts him on the cage.
Njokuani peels an arm away with wrist control and lands a knee to the ribs. Body-lock takedown from Rainey and Njokuani is right back up but still crammed on the fence. The ref splits them up. Rainey lances a right cross and follows a one-two into the clinch. Njokuani circles off the fence and lands a glancing right elbow that affects Rainey’s eye. Now Rainey circles off but eats a knee to the face before they separate. Rainey blocks a left high kick. 10-9 Njokuani.
R3: They hug it out in the center to start the third. Njokuani lands a kick and a short right as Rainey clinches up. Njokuani circles off the fence and attacks with short round knees with a body lock. Rainey looks for a counter whizzer throw and uses it to circles Njokuani onto the fence. Rainey drops for a double leg but takes a series of downward elbows to the upper back.
Njokuani with a blatant fence grab while defending the takedown; the ref swats his hand off the cage and he goes down but pops back up. Rainey stays in on the double leg until they’re separated by the ref. Njokuani throws a right high kick in the pocket that’s mostly blocked but also lands a counter right on the next exchange. Njokuani attacks with two left body kicks and lands the second. Rainey clinches up and hits a takedown, then wings an elbow from on top. 10-10. I have it a 29-29 draw.

Houston Alexander vs. Guilherme Viana
R1: They exchange jabs, then left hooks. Alexander lands a lead right to the body. Viana doubles up on left hooks but can’t clinch up. They trade rights but Viana follows with another sharp left hook to the head. Jab by Alexander. Viana drills him with a hook/cross combo and it buckles Alexander’s knees. Viana continues to center his combos around the left hook and they’re landing hard and often.
Now a right cross slips through for Viana. A knee to the body from the double collar tie from Viana. Viana’s jab snaps Alexander’s head back. Alexander sneaks in a counter right. Viana plugs him with a clean shot and Alexander’s right eye is in rough shape. Alexander lands a jab and a right downstairs. 10-8 Viana.
R2: Long snapping jabs open the round for Viana, then he sits down on a left hook that forces Alexander to shoot; Viana hits a guillotine sweep and gets right back to his feet. Viana bounces a steady humdrum of left hooks off Alexander’s head and he goes on roller-skates. Alexander clinches to stem the tide and Viana powers him down from the rear waist cinch.
Alexander turtles and Viana gets the seat belt, then goes to a half nelson, raining hammer-fists to the head. Showing a big heart, Alexander stands and spins to face Viana, then separates. Viana catches the breath and slows his pace for the last minute of the round. 10-8 Viana. The fight is waved off due to a nasty cut on Alexander’s upper eyelid.
