WSOF 25 goes down tomorrow night in Phoenix, but one fighter entered into the promotion’s eight-man, one-night tournament and one reserve fighter have been forced to withdraw just 24 hours before their scheduled bouts. According to MMA Fighting, both Brian Cobb and Benny Madrid are out.
Cobb withdrew for undisclosed reasons. He was set to face off with Mike Ricci in the first round. Instead, Ricci will meet Joe Condon, who was promoted from a reserve bout.
Madrid was transported to the hospital due to issues with his weight cut. He was set to fight in one of the two reserve bouts against Ramil Mustapayev. LaRue Hurley will now face Mustapayev, and they will only go with one reserve bout.
Here are the updated first-round matchups for the tourney:
Mike Ricci vs. Joe Condon
Luis Palomino vs. Rich Patishnock
Brian Foster vs. Joao Zeferino
Jorge Patino vs. Islam Mamedov
Also scheduled for the card is a bout between Jason High and Estevan Payan.
UPDATE: According to MMA Junkie, Cobb has been released from the promotion for his second straight withdrawal from a fight.
