UFC 193 Medical Suspensions: Rousey may be out 6 months

It’s that time of the week. With a major UFC event just passed, we’re now hitting those days where we get the various results beyond just winners and losers. Who made what money, who moved up or down which list, and of course, who got hurt? To answer that last question simply: A lot of people, to one degree or another.

UFC 193 saw it’s share of tough back and forth fights, gritty performances, big KO’s and injuries. Ronda Rousey led the way both as the card’s biggest name fighter and tied for, potentially, it’s longest suspension. She’s been given a minimum 60 day suspension from fighting with 45 days of no contact training. But she could be suspended for as long as 180 days (6 months) depending on CT scan results for head trauma.

Ronda Rousey: 45 days – no contact, 60 days – no fight, 180 days – pending negative CT head scan
Holly Holm: 7 days – mandatory rest

Valerie Letourneau: 30 days – no contact, 45 days – no fight, 180 days – pending negative CT head scan
Joanna Jedrzejczyk: 30 days – no contact, 45 days – no fight, 180 days – pending x-ray of right hand

Antonio Silva: 30 days – no contact, 45 days – no fight
Mark Hunt: 7 days – mandatory rest

Uriah Hall: 21 days – no contact, 30 days – no fight
Robert Whittaker: 21 days – no contact, 30 days – no fight, 180 days – pending x-rays of left ankle & right hand

Stefan Struve: 7 days – mandatory rest
Jared Rosholt: 21 days – no contact, 30 days – no fight, 180 days – pending CT scan of right tibia/fibia

Akbarh Arreola: 30 days – no contact, 45 days – no fight
Jake Matthews: 30 days – no contact, 45 days – no fight

Peter Sobotta: 7 days – mandatory rest
Kyle Noke: 7 days – mandatory rest

Anthony Perosh: 30 days – no contact, 45 days – no fight
Gian Villante: 7 days – mandatory rest

Richie Vaculik: 21 days – no contact, 30 days no fight
Danny Martinez: 7 days – mandatory rest

Anton Zafir: 21 days – no contact, 30 days – no fight
James Moontasri: 7 days – mandatory rest
