When Holly Holm knocked out Ronda Rousey with a vicious head kick at UFC 193, there was no post-fight interview with Joe Rogan for Rousey, who walked out of the cage after the official result was announced. She was later transported to a local Melbourne hospital and was unable to attend the press conference. Today, Rousey published a statement on her Instagram page, marking her first public comments on her shockingly lopsided first defeat of her career.

“I just wanted to thank everyone for the love and support,” Rousey said. “I appreciate the concerns about my health, but I’m fine. As I had mentioned before, I’m going to take a little bit of time, but I’ll be back.”

In the post-fight press conference, Dana White said that an immediate rematch between Rousey and Holm “makes sense”, and new women’s bantamweight champion Holm concurred.
