Saturday night’s UFC 193 marked the UFC’s debut in Melbourne, Australia, and featured devastating finishes, exciting fights, a come-from-behind victory and arguably the biggest upset in the promotion’s history. After it was all said and done, there were several fighters on the card that deserved an extra post-fight bonus for their performances.
Holly Holm and Ronda Rousey won an extra $50,000 for Fight of the Night honors because of their insane main event. Holm picked up a shocking knockout win over Rowdy as a massive underdog. Fans may look at this as if it was a one-sided beating, but Rousey took her down once and was able to land a fair share of her own shots. In the end though, Holm gained the women’s bantamweight championship with a huge finish on Saturday night. The new 135-pound titleholder picked up another extra $50,000 for her spectacular performance, as well, totaling to $100,000 in bonus money.
The other $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus went to underdog Kyle Noke, who stopped Peter Sobotta with a brutal body kick that ended the fight very early in the first round. This is Noke’s second-straight victory but he needed this win to prove he still can win fights in decisive fashion in the stacked welterweight division.
