Dana White spoke to MMA Fighting about various topics relating to UFC 193, and one of the interesting topics he tackled was the gate. They’re targeting 70,000 people in the arena, with White revealing that the ‘cheap seats’ are still available as they look to reach that goal and break their previous record of over 55,000 people.
The highest attendance ever was set by a Georges St-Pierre headlined event in Toronto back in 2011, and they also had a live gate of $12 million for that show. They’ll look to eclipse the attendance with this Australia event, but they won’t be reaching the gate set by UFC 129.
White spoke to a UFC official who confirmed that they expect the gate to be around 8.5 million AUD, or $6 million.
