Thiago Tavares’ post-fight interview lasted much longer than his actual fight with fellow UFC veteran Clay Guida in Sao Paulo, Brazil. After Guida went in for a double-leg takedown, Tavares countered with a guillotine choke that Guida would not be able to get out of. The tap came at just 39 seconds of round 1, and the Brazilian fans celebrated with their countryman.

Here’s the accompanying play-by-play courtesy of Bloody Elbow’s Dallas Winston:
R1: Guida pressures with jabs, one-twos, angles and stance changes to set up a clean double-leg takedown. Tavares, however, closes his guard and cinches on a guillotine. It’s tight. Guida taps.
Tavares has won 3 of his last 4, with all of his wins by 1st round submission. Guida drops to 3-3 as a featherweight, and all of his losses have been by stoppage.
