There’s no doubt that UFC 194 is the sport’s biggest event of the year. The 12-fight menu features the highly anticipated featherweight championship matchup between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor. Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold will square off in the co-main for the middleweight title, and the champion knows he’ll make history.

When speaking to Ariel Helwani on the latest edition of The MMA Hour, Weidman predicted 1.4 million pay-per-view buys for the event.

“I just want the card to stay together,” Weidman said. “If it stays together, I’m going to say (it does) 1.4 (million pay-per-view buys). First of all, the Jose Aldo vs. Conor fight has been getting promoted for almost a year now, right? They’ve put more money into that than any other show, and it didn’t happen yet. So I hope that’s going to carry over and that momentum still going to be swinging.”

If the 185lb kingpin proves to be right, UFC 194 would be the 2nd biggest PPV ever, trailing directly behind UFC 100, which earned a staggering 1.6 million buys in 2009. The blockbuster card was headlined by WWE juggernaut Brock Lesnar, with Georges St-Pierre supporting in the co-main event.

UFC 194, which will also pit middleweight studs Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Yoel Romero against each other, will take place on December 12th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
