Fedor to compete in Combat Sambo Championships in Monaco next month

Fedor Emelianenko will take part in a combat sambo world tournament next month to ease himself into a return to MMA.

The four-time combat sambo champion will compete in the World Masters Tournament in Sambo and Judo, which takes place November 25th in Monaco. Tass.ru, who reached out to the press service of the competition, first reported the news.

“Fedor has already confirmed his participation in the competition”, said the press-service.

The tournament will feature competitors from France, the United States and Saudi Arabia. The 1984 Olympic champion in Judo and member of the Executive Committee of the International Judo Federation, Yasuhiro Yamashita, will also compete at the tournament.

Members of the Monaco royal family, the Saudi Arabia royal family, as well as the “leaders of the UN, the Council of Europe, the World Bank and others” will likely attend the event.

Fedor is scheduled to return to MMA on December 31st at Rizin Fighting Federation at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan. His opponent is yet to be determined.
