Holzken is waiting on the results of the GLORY 25 MILAN Welterweight Contender Tournament, the winner of which is due a title shot. But that doesn’t happen until November 9 and Daley doesn’t see the point in waiting.

There has been talk before of a fight between Daley and Holzen and at one point it looked like it might take place on the recent ‘Dynamite’ card. It didn’t, but there was enough interest in the fight to make it a hot topic of discussion for a few days.

Daley fought fellow Bellator fighter — on the Dynamite card and won a decision. He likes to compete in both kickboxing and MMA but has been largely focused on the latter recently due to better opportunities. He was previously unable to fight for GLORY because of a contract he had with the ailing K-1 Global outfit, though that is now resolved.

As soon as today’s news about the Amsterdam show broke, Daley wasted no time in calling Holzken out, and in pretty strong fashion at that. Daley wants the slot opposite Holzken and he had some pretty strong words for the welterweight champion in a message to Bloody Elbow:

Holzken is as no-nonsense a character as you will find. He cannot stand trash talk and is incensed by disrespect. Daley will now have his attention, though the Brit would require permission from Bellator to take the fight and would also need to make prior commitment to further fights in the event that he won the title.

Kickboxing fans routinely cite Holzken as one of the pound-for-pound best in the sport. A professional boxer as well as kickboxer, Holzken won the GLORY 13 TOKYO welterweight tournament but then was sidelined via injury in 2014. At GLORY 23 LAS VEGAS in August he stopped Raymond Daniels to win the welterweight title.
