Ronda Rousey isn’t the UFC’s only star past or present, but she’s very likely their biggest breakout star in the US market. Not only is she making her way into movies and magazines, but it sounds like she’s making serious bank in the cage as well. The women’s bantamweight champion made a guest appearance on the Ellen Degeneres show recently to talk about her history in judo, and her career in general.
While there, Ellen asked about potential pay inequality between men and women in the UFC. Ronda Rousey’s answer couldn’t have been more clear, at least where her own paycheck is concerned, telling the talk show host “I’m the highest paid fighter in the UFC.”
That’s not particularly surprsing, what with the derailment of Jon Jones’ MMA career and McGregor’s lower profile outside the cage, but it’s always good to hear it from the source. Rousey also talked about her habit of crying during fight week and how she isn’t trying to look mean on her walk to the cage. Check out the highlights above.
