UFC 191 results: Pearson, Lineker, Pennington, Trator pick up wins

Four UFC 191 preliminary bouts aired live on Fox Sports 1 live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ross Pearson edged Paul Felder by split decision in a closely fought technical bout. Both men scored standing but it was likely Pearson’s advantage in take downs that made the difference.

John Lineker made the most of his bantamweight debut by demolishing Francisco Rivera in a wild one-round donnybrook. Lineker staggered Rivera with punches and when a hurt Rivera dived for a take down, caught him in a guillotine choke for the tap.

Women’s bantamweight Raquel Pennington avenged her UFC 171 loss to Jessica Andrade with a second round victory. Andrade, who took the bout on very short notice, got beat up in the clinch by Pennington before succumbing to a rear naked choke in the final seconds of the second round. Pennington celebrated the victory on her 27th birthday.

Featherweight Tiago Trator did just enough to convince two judges he beat Clay Collard for two rounds in a sloppy bout to open the Fox Sports 1 prelim card. Collard was consistently aggressive, firing spinning shots on multiple occasions but rarely landing with anything serious. Trator was able to get several take downs and dominate position on the ground en route to the split division win.
