Over the last seven weeks, former Olympic Judoka and current Australian UFC middleweight Daniel Kelly has been demonstrating different Judo moves as part of Submission Radio’s “Technique of the week”.

As Dan gets deep into his training camp to prepare for UFC 193 where he meets BJJ specialist Ricardo Abreu, he shows one last way of incorporating Judo into MMA, a discipline that has opened the door to success for such fighters as Ronda Rousey, Hector Lombard and Yoshihiro Akiyama.

Once again utilizing the help of 2016 Olympic hopeful Eoin Coughlan, Dan demonstrates a simple yet effective way of utilizing the “Kosoto Gari” Judo trip to sweep your opponent off their feet once you have them against the cage.

Submission Radio posts technique videos every Wednesday, demonstrating a variety of moves from BJJ, MMA, boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, Muay Thai, Sambo, and more. Beginning next week, techniques will be demonstrated by UFC lightweight Jake Matthews and 4th degree BJJ black belt Carlos Vieira.

You can follow Submission Radio on Twitter at @SubmissionAus, and also listen to their radio broadcasts on iTunes, Stitcher, TuneIn, Soundcloud, and SB Nation. This upcoming weekend’s episode will feature appearances from Hector Lombard, Patrick Cummins, a breakdown of UFC 191 and much more.
